About the Brand
Conceptualised by business partners from Mumbai and Goa who spent many years interacting with the original hippies who fell in love with Anjuna, the owners of Slow Tide wanted to pay homage to the free spirits whose vision brought millions of travelers to appreciate the charming beauty and culture of Goa.
The Opportunity
Having been designed by one of the leading architects of the world, of Sri Lankan origin, the restaurant had an incredible modern design that also blended well with the beach landscape. The cuisine and bar menu were tasteful showcasing a lot of originality by a crew that used to work at the well known Bombay Canteen restaurant. Blurb’s job was to communicate these highlights in all the relevant media and craft storytelling on social media that would create a buzz ahead of the restaurant’s launch.
Our Approach
We wrote their story carefully for the media, conducted a photo shoot with a leading photographer and coordinated with our network for public relations. We used archive pictures and stories of the original hippies to convey the historic and cultural relevance on social media.
Outcome
More importantly, the brand’s digital presence began to more accurately reflect the experience it offers — calm, considered and distinctive.
We were able to garner a lot of interest from national media as well as locally via social media influencers. Slow Tide grew to be on the list of top 50 restaurants in the country by Conde Nast Traveler magazine.
